Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 9, 2026.
This page explains what information namefortune.app collects, why, and how we handle it. We try to keep this in plain English. If something here is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we'll fix the wording.
What we collect directly
The site does not require an account, and we do not run a sign-in flow of any kind. The name you type into the home-page game is processed entirely in your own browser to compute probabilities and run the random-string loop. We do not store, transmit, or log the names you enter on our servers.
Server logs
Like almost any website, our hosting provider (DigitalOcean App Platform) keeps short-term technical logs of incoming requests. These logs include your IP address, the URL you requested, the time of the request, your browser's User-Agent string, and the HTTP response status. These logs exist for security and debugging purposes. We do not use them to build profiles of individual users, and we do not share them with third parties except where required by law.
Cookies and analytics
We do not currently use any analytics tracker, advertising cookie, or third-party tag for behavioural tracking. If we add web analytics in the future, we will choose a privacy-respecting option (such as Plausible or self-hosted Umami) that does not use cookies and does not collect personal information. If we ever change this, we will update this page and the change will appear in the "last updated" date above.
Third-party advertising (when applicable)
If we begin showing advertisements on the site through Google AdSense or a similar network, those services may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info. Until any such advertising is enabled and disclosed here, no advertising cookies are placed by this site.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment details on this site. We do not run web forms that store submissions. The only way you can intentionally send us personal information is by emailing us directly, in which case the email itself is the record.
Children
The site is suitable for general audiences, but it is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through email, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy regulations such as the GDPR (EU/EEA/UK), CCPA (California), or similar laws elsewhere. Because we don't collect personal data on the site itself, requests for access, deletion, or portability typically have nothing for us to act on. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, write to [email protected] and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy in any material way — for example, by enabling analytics or advertising — we will update the "last updated" date at the top and describe the change in this section.
